Elections for executive body 2010

The elections for the Office bearers of IEEE Student Branch NIT Warangal were held on 29^th October 2009. The event started off with a presentation on an overview of the activities of the student branch in the year 2009 by A Srinath, The Vice chair person for the year 2009. He also gave vital insights into the problems faced till now and the events that could not be materialised due to various constraints. Gautam D, the Chair person also highlighted the fact that the new members should be sufficiently aware of the benefits of IEEE in order to exploit them to the full extent. He then informed about  the duties and responsibilities of each of the office bearers.

The turnout for the elections was good as even the prospective members for 2010 were also eligible for voting. Amarjot Singh was elected for the post of ‘Chair Person’ who impressed the audience with his plans for the Student branch for the coming year. He also promised to share his knowledge about the cutting edge research going on around the world. P.Raghavendra who was the runner up by a mere count of 3 votes was elected as ‘Student Activities Coordinator’.  Then, K.Chaitanya Pramod was elected as the ‘Vice Chair Person’ and K.V.Karthik as GINI representative who highlighted the importance of networking.  Then, Mounica A got elected for the post of ‘Secretary’, V.Varun kumar for ‘Treasurer’, Y Srikanth Reddy for ‘Public Relations Officer’ and Madhuri G for ‘Membership Development Officer’. Our Branch Counsellor Prof.DVSS Siva Sarma, encouraged the newly elected members to strive hard for the development of the student branch as well as its members. He also mentioned about the importance of teamwork and making all the students aware of the new ways in which they can develop themselves.
